The term “mentor” originated in Ancient Greece when Odysseus left to fight in the Trojan War. He entrusted the care of his household to Mentor, a trusted friend. For many years Mentor served as a teacher, advisor and confidant to Telemachus, Odysseus' son. Over time, the word “mentor” came to describe a wise and trusted advisor, friend or teacher.

Kesler Mentoring Connection believes that, with the help and guidance of an adult mentor, each child can discover how to unlock and achieve his or her potential.

MISSION: To enhance the quality and increase the quantity of mentoring relationships in Northeast Florida.

VISION: To provide safe and effective one-to-one mentoring relationships for people who would benefit through advocacy, recruitment, training, and support of mentoring initiatives throughout Northeast Florida.
